Welcome to Dorset Curious, my name is April and I am a freelance writer, hobby photographer and hermit. I am here to guide you through the County of Dorset from a unique (often obscure) perspective.

The cosmically improbable happens around us all the time, we just don’t notice it. We are too busy living the things we call ‘our lives’, and we forget to observe the small synchronicities, the ‘coincidences’, the tiny details which life dishes up so delightfully for our learning, if we choose.

I hope you will enjoy coming along for the ride with me while I investigate Dorset Towns and Churches, as well as Coastal and Country Walks. Through fiction, poetry, history, photography and observation of the tiny details of every day Dorset life.

The top menu bar will guide you towards your particular interest. The section on Books will take you to my own work, divided into it’s diverse categories. You will notice the heading ‘Sunrise’. I am a huge fan of swimming in the cold English sea at dawn. That page is for all the happiness, inspiration and photography that comes from that hobby.
